It was 1992 when I first experienced Gene Wilder’s Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory—a definitive moment in what proved to be an otherwise volatile childhood. It was that moment I fell in love with cinema. And just like that, my trajectory of becoming a filmmaker began—although I didn’t realise it at the time.
Thirty-odd years later, I’ve had an extremely diverse career to date—from writing and directing network television through to feature films and documentaries (and everything in between). Having written a number of original and adapted stories into Hollywood-acquired and represented screenplays, I’ve also developed remakes based on notable IP such as The Phantom, and Michael Caine/Anthony Quinn/James Mason’s 1974 thriller, The Destructors, to name a few.
2026 sees the completion of my one-off feature length documentary, Common Wealth, in which I wrote, directed, produced and presented. Pivoting from behind the camera to sharing my personal story, convictions and truths in the form of a citizen journalist and political commentator was both challenging and rewarding. Common Wealth is scheduled for a 2026 theatrical release via Madman Entertainment.
My existence in the world of television and cinema is to (hopefully) inspire and challenge while leaving something positive behind for the next generation. I believe in the power of motion pictures. I believe in the magic they offer us all. And I hope my personal journey and heart is reflected in the material I choose to produce.
